I am excited to announce that our flute theory workbooks have begun! Yeah! I really want to make sure these kids internalize the order of music so it all makes sense -- forever more. This month we are working on note recognition and music symbols. Please remember to review these regularly with your child. It is not only good for learning, it is also another "bonding" experience for you and your child. Make it fun. Watch what creativity goes into the "games" at lessons and create your own. You'll be surprised at how much you can come up with.
We have performance 4 weeks from now....... so - "LET THE POLISHING ROUTINE BEGIN". Yipee! Another (2) performable pieces! Your children are amazing.

The 100 Days are HERE! (yeah!)
Each year my studio participates in what is called "The 100 Day Contest". It is the BEST time of the year. During this time, students and parents work together to practice for 100 days in a row. We gain so much during this time. It is always so rewarding! Here is a quick list of what we accomplish:
1. We move twice the distance in our books than we do the rest of the year.
2. We gain a lot of playing confidence.
3. We perform flawlessly.
4. Our ability to play "musically" is enhanced greatly.
5. We look forward to coming to our lessons - because we are highly prepared.
6. We are excited to show the teacher what we did during the week.
7. The teacher is excited to see us and work with our quick development.
8. Our parents are thrilled and do their best to help us fit our schedule around practice.
9. We perform when our current ability is "peaking".
10. We never forget the positive bond we create with our instrument and teacher.
*Besides all of that; we get to "party" it up afterwards at a studio dinner at a favorite restaurant where teacher pays the bill!
*Parents also keep their end of the bargain by rewarding student with whatever was "agreed" upon at home. (FUN FUN FUN)
Love you all! ...and Love the 100 Day Contest! -- see you at the end!
